Remittances for emigration in South Korea 2018, by country
According to an analysis of remittances in South Korea in 2018, the top destination country for emigration-related remittances by South Koreans was the U.S., making up over half of the total number of remittances. After the U.S. came Malaysia, accounting for another 30 percent. Together these two countries received over 85 percent of all emigration-related remittances in South Korea. Around 40 percent of the remittances were made by people in their 40s.
