Condiments and spices accounted for about 572 billion Indian rupees in the Indian economy in fiscal year 2017. This value was an increase compared to the previous fiscal year. This sector contributed about 4.5 percent to the GVA of crops that same year, a slight increase from nearly four percent in fiscal year 2012.
