Barclays: sustainable finance 2022

Barclays PLC increased the value of social, environmental, and sustainability-linked financing facilitated between 2019 and 2021, although 2022 saw a drop in the value of sustainable financing. Barclays began publishing their sustainable financing results through their Environmental Social Governance report (ESG) in 2016. Prior to announcing their commitment, the bank had facilitated almost 90 billion British pounds in social and green financing. In 2021, the bank financed 69.2 billion British pounds in social, environmental, and sustainability-linked projects, which decreased to 54.3 billion British pounds in 2022.
