Latin America: oil palm harvested area 2019, by country

In 2019, Colombia was the leading country with the largest cultivation area of oil palm trees in Latin America, with an estimated 480 thousand hectares. Ecuador came in second, with 290 thousand hectares, almost half as much as Colombia. In that year, this South American country was not only the Latin American leader in harvested area of oil palm but also in palm oil consumption, with close to 1.1 million metric tons consumed in 2019.
