Great Britain: prosecution for medical cannabis use 2019

In 2019 it was found that the majority of British adults believe those who use cannabis illegally to self-treat medical conditions should not be prosecuted. 27 percent of respondents strongly oppose the prosecution of individuals using cannabis for medical reasons, with a further 25 percent opposing to an extent. On the other hand, six percent of respondents strongly support the prosecution of unlawful medical cannabis users.
A sizeable share of British adults living with various health conditions are using cannabis unlawfully to treat their conditions, due to limited medical cannabis legalization in the UK.
