COVID-19 testing per million in India May 2020 by state

Jammu and Kashmir had the highest testing for the coronavirus (COVID-19) across India as of May 29, 2020, at over 12 thousand per million. Maharashtra, on the other hand, the region most affected by the virus recorded tests at just over 3.5 thousand per million. India conducted over 3.8 million tests as of June 1, 2020. Although testing had rapidly increased, it was still insufficient in terms of meeting the needs of the population. Compared to other countries in that time period, India had one of the lowest rates of testing for the infection worldwide.
