Year-to-date global chemical production change due to COVID-19 by region 2020

Because of the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus, global year-to-date chemical production has declined by 1.8 percent as of August 2020. As of August 2020, Latin America had the largest regional chemical production decreases worldwide, with 2020 year-to-date chemicals production decreases of 9.8 percent overall in that region. Although 2020 chemicals production has increased in some countries/regions such as the Former Soviet Union, production has decreased in most world regions.
