Number of illegal foreign workers Japan 2012-2021, by major area
Out of the over 13 thousand illegal foreign workers that were detected in Japan in 2021, more than two thousand were working in Chiba Prefecture. A breakdown by occupation showed that construction workers made up almost one fourth of all apprehended foreign workers in that year.
