Leading craft beer brands by sales in the United Kingdom (UK) 2022

As of 2022, Camden Town Hells Lager was the leading craft beer brand ranked by sales in the United Kingdom (UK). During the 12 months ended October 9, 2022, its sales amounted to approximately 152 million British pounds.

BrewDog’s market position

The Scottish company BrewDog was founded in 2007. Based in Ellon, the company not only brews beer but also operates a pub chain. On the UK market half of the top ten craft beers sold off-trade (in retail) are BrewDog branded products. The BrewDog Punk IPA (India Pale Ale) was the leading BrewDog craft beer off-trade. That an IPA is topping this list is hardly surprising, since IPAs are the country’s second most favorite beer type. BrewDogs off-trade market share comes close to 21 percent.

On-trade sales volumes

Between 2015 and 2019 on-trade sales (pubs, restaurants, etc.) of craft beers have grown by over half a million hectoliters. In 2019, about 1.24 million hectoliters were sold in the UK.
