Cybercrime cost development in France in 2018

In 2016 and 2017, the costs of cybercrime in France started at around 8 million U.S. dollars, increasing by about one and a half million in 2018. The source defines cybercrime as cyberattacks which are malicious activities conducted against the organization through the IT infrastructure via the Internet. With new regulations such as the order passed in January 2020 in Paris, leading French Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to ban the access to platforms with pirated content, consumption of illegal content was made more difficult and thus could reduce the costs of cybercrime.
