Quarterly banker opinion on economic condition of the industry in U.S. 2022
According to a survey carried out in the third quarter of 2022, 35 percent of bank executives experienced worsening economic conditions at their institutions in the past 12 months. In contrast, 21 percent of the respondents experienced worsening conditions in the first quarter of 2022. In terms of future expectations, 67 percent of the respondents predicted a decline in the economic conditions at their respective banks in the third quarter of 2022, while only 46 percent expected a decline in the first quarter of 2022.
