People speaking a foreign language in Italy 2007-2016

Between 2007 and 2016, the share of people speaking at one foreign language in Italy experienced an increase. As of 2016, about 42 percent of Italians reported to speak one foreign language.
According to data from 2019, almost all students in Italy learned English in school. French and Spanish were the second and third most-taught foreign languages in Italian schools.
