China: employment sentiment of urban depositors 2022

In the third quarter of 2022, the employment sentiment index value of urban depositors in China was 35.4. Throughout the years 2018 and 2019, the index value had been around 45 which suggests that respondents' employment situation worsened during that period. In the first quarter of 2020, the index value decreased to around 38 due to the outbrek of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A diffusion index indicates depositors change of employment in the observed quarter. The index is derived by calculating the proportions of respondents whose "employment increased", "employment remained unchanged", and "employment decreased", and assigning the weights 1, 0.5, and 0 to them respectively. Finally the average value is calculated.
