Production of sunflower seeds in South Africa 2000-2020
As of 2019/2020, the production of sunflower seeds amounted to 727 thousand metric tons, which is a slight increase of roughly 3.1 percent from the previous year. Between 2000 and 2019, the production of sunflower seeds fluctuated significantly. The lowest quantity was registered in 2006/2007 with 312 thousand, while the highest quantity can be seen in 2001/2002 measuring 967 thousand metric tons.
