In 2019, the gross production value of canola in South Africa declined to 529.4 million South African Rands (roughly 32 million U.S. dollars), from 575.1 million Rands (approximately 34.8 million U.S. dollars) in the year before. In the period between 2000 and 2010, the gross production value of canola was at a lower level, rarely exceeding 100 million Rands (about 6 million U.S. dollars). From 2011, the indicator grew substantially, following a growth also in the
