
Production of figs in South Africa 2000-2019
As of 2018/2019, the preliminary production volume of figs in South Africa amounted close to 1.98 thousand metric tons, which illustrated a decrease of 10.3 percent from 2017/2018. Between 2000 and 2019, the production of figs was rather unstable, fluctuating between 1.80 and 2.19 thousand metric tons except for 2005/2006 and 2007/2008. In 2005/2006 a 15.8 percent drop was present. However, the production quantity of figs quickly recovered growing by 88.1 percent in the two years following.
