Share of crime suspects in Norway 2020, by type and gender

24 percent of all male crime suspects in Norway in 2020 were suspected of traffic crimes. Among women that year, the number of traffic crime suspects amounted to 19 percent. By comparison, a higher share among females than among males were suspected of theft, burglary, and robberies. 22 percent of the female crime suspects in 2020 were suspected of those crimes, compared to 13 percent of male crime suspects.
