In 2021, the average retail price for a pack of cigarettes in Indonesia, also known as white cigarettes there, was around 21.95 thousand Indonesian rupiah. In January 2020, the Indonesian government increased the excise duty for cigarettes and tobacco products, to tackle the high prevalence of smoking in the country.
