Brazil: electricity net exchange 2013-2020

In recent years, the electricity exchange balance between Brazil and neighboring countries Argentina and Uruguay has shifted. In 2020, Brazil imported a net of 2.6 terawatt hours, the highest figure reported in the indicated period. Brazil has registered a negative exchange balance since 2017, whereas in 2015 and 2016 it supplied a net of almost 163 and 180 terawatt hours to its neighbors, respectively.
