Share of offensive weapons and tools used in violent crimes in Ghana 2020, by type

In 2020, guns were the main offensive weapons and tools used to commit violent crimes in Ghana, accounting for a share of 51 percent of all equipment used for this purpose. Knives and machetes followed at 32 percent. Overall, crime offenders in the country often carried weapons, mostly shotguns, locally manufactured pistols, and rifles.
