Number of female prisoners in Ghana 2000-2024
Ghana had nearly 190 female prisoners in the country as of February 2024, representing 1.2 percent of the overall prison population. This was also a slight decrease from the preceding year. Within the period observed, the peak of females serving their prison term in Ghana was reached in 2005, at 257.
