In 2020, Guyana recorded an estimate of 12 deaths per 100,000 people due to tuberculosis, which made it the country with the highest tuberculosis mortality rate in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Bolivia and Haiti followed in the infamous ranking, with 11 tuberculosis deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. That year, Jamaica had the lowest tuberculosis death incidence in the region, with 0.24 deceases per 100,000 people.
