Tuberculosis vaccine coverage in Latin America & the Caribbean 2021, by country
In 2021, Brazil had the lowest coverage rate of the tuberculosis vaccine among 27 Latin American and Caribbean countries. As of that year, approximately 63 percent of the population in the country received the Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccine against almost 99 percent in Mexico and Cuba. However, Guyana recorded the highest number of tuberculosis deaths per 100,000 people during that year, with around 16 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants due to this disease.
