COVID-19 impact on global primary-energy supply by source 2020-2050
The coronavirus pandemic is projected to have the highest impact on fossil fuel-based primary energy supply. In 2020, the COVID-19 impact on fossil sources amounted to 8.6 percent reduction while non-fossil-based supply reductions stood at 3.3 percent. The overall Covid-19 impact on energy demand is estimated to stand at around 8.3 percent reduction for all sectors.
