Latin America: COVID-19 impact on pediatric cancer services 2020
According to a survey carried out in April 2020 in 20 Latin American countries, nearly three out of five pediatric doctors interviewed said that they had to reduce pediatric staff due to infection or quarantine amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, more than one fourth of the respondents had to move staff to other services due to the health crisis. Based on the same study, roughly nine out of ten follow-up appointments for such cancer cases in the region were canceled or modified due to the coronavirus.
