Social network applications were the most popular category among Chinese mobile internet users during the 2021 Chinese New Year. Users in China spent 26.1 percent of their total mobile online time browsing social platforms during the holiday. Meanwhile, around 25.8 percent of their online time was spent on short video platforms, such as Douyin and Kuaishou.
