Credit value of banks in Central America by country 2022

As of January 2022, banks in Panama granted more than 52 billion U.S. dollars worth of credits, the highest figure among Central American countries. Meanwhile, Costa Rican banks reported credits amounting to over 29 billion dollars. In 2020, domestic credits provided by the financial sector in Costa Rica represented more than 90 percent of the country's gross domestic product.
