Challenges journalists experienced worldwide in 2020
A global study held in early 2021 asked journalists about the challenges they faced in 2020, and revealed that 13.9 percent had struggled to tell the difference between fact and fiction when covering politics and elections, whilst almost 30 percent had encountered problems with the availability of their sources of contacts whilst working from home. However, unsurprisingly, the biggest challenge for journalists in 2020 was the COVID-19 pandemic, with 37.4 percent of respondents admitting that they had felt fatigued by reporting on the outbreak.
