Japan: reasons not to marry among women 2022

Reluctance to give up their freedom was a common reason why single women in Japan did not want to marry. According to a survey conducted between December 2021 and January 2022, around 56.6 percent did not want to be tied down to marriage, while a similar share of female respondents cited the lack of a potential partner as a reason for not getting married.
