Amazon Prime Video counted 10.55 million subscribers in Japan as of the fourth quarter of 2023, which made it the leading subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service in this regard. Prime Video was followed by Netflix and the domestic service U-Next, which added about 690 thousand subscribers to its customer base due to a merger with Paravi in June 2023.
