Expected shifts in response to rising prices among U.S. consumers 2021

In 2021, many consumers in the United States stated they would make changes to their shopping habits if prices on groceries or household essentials went up. For instance, about half of U.S. shoppers surveyed said they would switch to lower priced brands if they saw a slight price increase. If prices for groceries and essentials were to rise significantly, about 60 percent of shoppers said they would make this switch.
