Self-sufficiency rate for fresh milk products Germany 2010-2022
In 2022, fresh milk products in Germany showed a self-sufficiency rate of 115 percent, which means that additional imports were not needed to cover domestic demand. The self-sufficiency rate represents a number which shows the percentage of necessary agricultural products produced domestically, i.e. which share of agricultural products necessary for the market can a country produce on its own. In case of shortage, which is a self-sufficiency rate under 100 percent, imports become necessary.
