Distribution of crude tea production volume in Japan 2020, by prefecture
In 2020, Shizuoka Prefecture produced the largest share of crude tea (aracha) in Japan, with 36 percent of the total output. That year, the production volume of unrefined green tea reached almost 70 thousand tons, with Shizuoka and Kagoshima accounting for the majority of crop yields.
