Demolition of buildings and parts of buildings in Germany 2015-2021
The volume of demolished buildings in Germany decreased by roughly 588,000 square meters from 2019 to 2021. Most of the demolitions were non-residential buildings, amounting to 5.95 million square meters. In 2021, 319,000 square meters of residential buildings were demolished. Even if the number of demolished buildings has been falling, the revenue of the demolition and site preparation industry in Germany is expected to be over ten billion U.S. dollars by 2024.
