Difference between votes of Gen. Z and general population in Spain 2011-2019
When compared to the votes of the Spanish population as a whole, Generation Z (those born between mid to late 1990s and the early 2010s) tends to sympathize with new parties more than the traditional ones: for example, PSOE and PP. In the 14th Cortes Generales, the legislature determined by the results of the national elections, which took place in November 2019, the vote of zoomers for the left-wing alliance, Unidas Podemos, was 44.7 percent points higher than UP's results among the total population. While Vox, the extreme-right party, was not particularly popular in its two first general elections, in November 2019 it had a slightly larger share of votes from Gen Z compared to the whole of the population.
