Pharmaceutical export value in Russia 2015-2022
Russia exported pharmaceutical products worth approximately 472 billion U.S. dollars in 2022, having decreased its export value of that commodity group more than five times from the previous year. Falling exports of medicines are due to international sanctions imposed on Russia after the Russia-Ukraine war. Although medical devices and medicines are not subject to sanctions, their delivery from Russia faces transport, insurance, and customs obstacles. Pharmaceutical exports included vaccines, medications, human and animal blood, and bandages, among other categories.
