The most common ethical and sustainable shopping behavior in Japan was to take along a reusable shopping bag as revealed in a survey conducted in July 2021. More than 94 percent of respondents took along reusable shopping bags, with 74.1 percent making an effort to not buy disposable plastic bags at checkouts.
Among the commonly named actions regarding product choices was the effort to buy refillable products, with almost 79 percent of respondents.
