Number of unipersonal households in Brazil 2021, by gender and region

In 2021, there were almost 10.8 million unipersonal households in Brazil, the third most common type of household in the country. Furthermore, 56.6 percent of the persons living alone were males, with a total of 6.1 million single-man households. The Southeast was the region with the largest number of unipersonal households: there, 2,735 men and 2,372 women lived alone.
