CEE: 5G phone share by country 2023

Among the presented Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, Russia was estimated to have the largest share of 5G-capable smartphones in 2023, at nearly 81 percent of the total. Estonia, where approximately two thirds of smartphones were 5G-capable, ranked second.

The smartphone is simply a combination of a cellphone and a handheld computer, which created the greatest tech revolution since the internet. A smartphone combines a cellphone with email and web, music and movie player, camera, camcorder, GPS navigation, voice recorder, alarm clock, flashlight, photo album, address book, and a lot more. Unique to smartphones are the “apps” that are available: Most apps are created for both iPhones (iOS) and Androids and provide endless possibilities of using smartphones for more and more activities in the digital world.
