Between January and August 2023, in Italy, cakes witnessed the most significant surge in sales volume among sweet bakery products in the food retail sector, experiencing a growth of 11.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This was followed by pastries and wafers which saw an increase of 4.2 percent in their sales volume.
