Trust in news sources in Canada 2022, by platform
Printed newspapers were the most trusted news source for Canadians as of December 2022, according to a study published in 2023. A total of 54 percent of surveyed respondents felt printed papers were trustworthy. Television programs followed closely behind with a trust level of 53 percent. Overall, the study found that Canadians trusted traditional media more than more digital formats. In general, websites scored a lower trust level than their analog counterparts, while social networks found themselves at the bottom of the ranking, as just over one in five surveyed Canadians trust them as a news source.
