Most of the gross merchandise volume (GMV) online stores generate comes from orders of three to five products, a 2022 study showed. The higher is the annual revenue of the online store, the bigger is the share of GMV generated by online orders of three to five items. E-commerce sites with annual revenue worth over 10 million U.S. dollars generated 55 percent of their GMV from orders of such cart size.
