North America: share of fare media sale method in total agencies
As of 2022, most public transport agencies sell their bus fare media at their transit HQ, by mail, or at a commercial outlet, with 79.3, 73.9 and 73.9 percent, respectively, of public transport agencies using these methods of fare media sale. The next highest percentage is via the internet, with 63.6 percent. Finally, nearly half of all public transport agencies participating in this survey reported the sale of fare media on-vehicle.
