Portugal: output of winemaking with PGI, by wine region 2023

In Portugal, the production volume of wine with protected geographical indication (PGI) generally increased during the period analyzed. The highest volume of wine produced was reached during the harvest season of 2021/2022, with 2.56 million hectoliters. The following year showed a decrease to 2.36 million hectoliters. The region of Lisbon was responsible for the highest production of PGI wine in the country.
