Digital album sales in the U.S. 2008-2021
In 2021, just 26.2 million digital albums were sold in the United States. This marks a drop of almost 24 percent compared to the previous year. Digital album sales peaked in 2012 and 2013, but have been dropping ever since and even fallen below the figures recorded prior to 2010. Digital song sales also continued to decrease and also fell by more than 12 percent between 2020 and 2021.
