This statistic gives information on the share of digital media time in the United States from June 2013 to December 2016, sorted by platform. In December 2016, mobile overtook desktop and accounted for 69 percent of total digital media minutes compared to desktop's 31 percent share. In total, mobile apps accounted for 60 percent of digital media time spent and smartphone apps specifically generated 51 percent of total digital media minutes.
