Biggest mobile vendors in Hungary 2023, by market share

As of March 2023, Samsung was the leading mobile phone vendor in the country, accounting for approximately a third of the Hungarian market. Xiaomi ranked second with a market share of over 22 percent.

 Financial results of Samsung in Hungary

Samsung, the electrical equipment manufacturer, has been present in Hungary since 1989 and is still expanding its business activities in the country. In 2021, Samsung generated revenue worth over 1.2 trillion forints, which represented a significant increase compared to the previous financial year. However, despite the increase in revenues, Samsung registered relatively low values over the past years when it comes to its earnings after taxes, totaling 41 billion forints in 2021.

 Mobile operating systems

As of September 2022, most Hungarian smartphone users had an Android operational system on their phones, which accounted for nearly 80 percent of the market. iOS took second place in the ranking with a market share of 20 percent. At the same time, less than one percent of the mobile operating system market was owned by Samsung.
