This statistic represents the number of "bath salt" related phone calls reported to U.S. poison control centers in the U.S. from January 1, 2009 to May 12, 2011. There is a highly significant increase in the abuse of synthetic cathinones (bath salts). In 2009 no bath salt related phone calls were reported, whereas in 2011 poison control centers reported 2,237 phone calls.
