About This Statistic
This statistic shows global personal computer shipments from the first quarter of 2009 to the latest quarter, by vendor. In the fourth quarter of 2016, Lenovo shipped 15.8 million PCs worldwide. Based on shipment figures, Lenovo has been the largest PC vendor worldwide since 2014. Lenovo’s closest competitors are currently HP Inc and Dell. Although Acer and Asus are currently engaged in a tight battle for fourth place, neither company stands close to the top three and Acer has seen its shipments fall significantly, from around 10 million worldwide at the start of 2011 to around 5.28 million in the fourth quarter of 2015. Although Lenovo is a global corporation, the Beijing-based company still generates a significant portion of its revenue domestically, with 27 percent of its revenue in the third quarter of the 2015-16 fiscal year stemming from China. The EMEA region continues to remain important for Lenovo, representing the company's second-largest market, whilst around a third of the company’s revenue is generated in North America.
