Steam platform users: Intel vs AMD PC processor use 2017-2019

This statistic shows the distribution of PC processors running the Steam platform as of October 2019. At that time, 80.54 percent of Steam users reported using an Intel processor. As a company, Intel generates more than 10 times more revenue that AMD, with Intel's budget for research and development alone more than three times greater than AMD's total revenues. However, Intel's PC sales have been declining while AMD is increasingly popular as it has begun producing chips for high-end PCs and servers.
